Salon customers can now easily redeem promo codes when making their bookings online — whether on the web or in the Salonkee mobile app. This update simplifies promotions for salons and gives clients a seamless experience when applying their discounts.
Step-by-step process
1. Entering a promo code
When a client is checking out their online booking, they will see a field where they can enter a promo code.
2. Code validation
The system automatically checks whether the entered promo code is valid for the selected booking:
If the promo code is not valid (for example, expired, not applicable to the chosen service, or already used), the customer will see a clear error message and can proceed without it.
If the promo code is valid, the discount is instantly applied and displayed in the booking summary.
3. Discount application
When the promo code is successfully applied, the customer immediately sees the adjusted booking price, ensuring full transparency before they confirm.
Deposits & Cancellation Policies
Promo codes do not change how cancellation policies are calculated but they do affect deposit amounts.
Card on file / cancellation fees
If the booking requires the customer to have a card on file, the cancellation fee is calculated on the original full booking price, before the discount is applied.
Example: Booking = €100, cancellation fee = 50%.
The customer applies a 20% promo code → new price €80.
If they cancel late, the cancellation fee remains €50 (50% of the original €100).
Deposits
If the booking requires a deposit, the deposit is calculated on the discounted booking price. This prevents situations where the deposit could be higher than the actual reduced fee.
Example: Booking = €100, deposit = 50%.
The customer applies a 20% promo code → new price €80.
Deposit is then recalculated as 50% of €80 = €40.
Viewing Promo Codes in Salonkee Pro
1. In the calendar
Bookings with a promo code applied are marked with a promo code icon in the Salonkee Pro agenda, so salon staff can quickly identify them.
2. In the booking information screen
The booking information panel shows details of which promo code was used. For clarity, the pricing displayed here reflects the original price, before the promo discount is applied.
3. At checkout in POS
When checking out the appointment in the Salonkee POS, the promo code is automatically applied to all eligible items in the customer’s ticket, ensuring a smooth process at the counter.
